Is there a Proper Attitude Toward Satan & Sin

One of the most glaring discoveries of my life is the certain reality of two very different worlds in which we live. One is very carnal and appeals to what is seen, touched, heard, and taste. Several things can satisfy the desires of these senses, but there are lawful and unlawful measures in which to satisfy them. Besides these fleshly appetites that characterize the physical world, there is the mind, heart, or attitude that determines how we handle these desires. Pride is the attitude that refuses to acknowledge law or any limitation placed upon us and seeks to dominate the world by fulfilling every desire of the flesh and mind.

Is there a proper attitude toward sin? The rebellious and hard-hearted individual will refuse to acknowledge accountability. Some will feign this acknowledgment to others but have inwardly made a pact with themselves that they are the god of their universe. However, for those who recognize the eternal God and their place role as His creation, sin is abhorred, and all efforts to satisfy the flesh should be done lawfully.

Equally important is the focus on the spiritual dimension that defines our heart's desire and the focus on fulfilling our journey to arrive at our eternal home. Mishandling sin by ignoring it, treating it lightly, refusing to acknowledge and confess it is accompanied by a specific attitude. Another attitude is attached to those who hate, acknowledge, and confess it.

This lesson will explore that attitude and create an awareness of the spiritual warfare that is continually waged in this life.
